Bee Gardens
Planting honey bee friendly gardens is a great way to attract bees to Edina!
The 2 biggest reasons 70% of our bees are dying are because of pesticides, and their loss of habitat. The honey bees are having a hard time finding flowers to pollinate that are not infected with pesticides and are close to their hives. Not using pesticides and other chemicals you use on your plants is an ESSENTIAL part of having a bee friendly garden. Also try to find flowers that do not already have chemicals in them. Look for the Bee Friendly label! Click the picture to find out about what plants bees like! |
Support
The honey bees can always use your help and support!
Advocate for the bees! You can raise awareness, teach your children about the importance of honey bees. Because beekeeping is now legal in Edina, you can own one! Raising a honey bee colony can be a huge commitment, but if you know how to take care of them, it is great for your plants and flowers as well as the plants and flowers of all of your neighbors.
